Brunello Walk & Nordic Walking · 13km

is a non-competitive option to give everyone, runners and walkers, the chance to do 13km in a more relaxing way over a route that was especially chosen by the organization, starting from the main square in Torrenieri which has recently been restored.

You will go along a part of the via Francigena between the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia and Brunello di Montalcino vineyards.

Three refreshment stations along the way at Siro Pacenti, Canalicchio di Sopra and Franco Pacenti - Canalicchio wineries for refreshments featuring local delicacies and Rosso di Montalcino wine.

At the fourth stop, there will be a shuttle bus available for those who would prefer avoiding the final 3km climb up to Montalcino.

Obviously, we would encourage you to continue along the route up to the town as the scenery changes and the entranceway into town is through Porta Castellana, one of the six medieval access gates into the town, to the finish line in the main square of Montalcino where all athletes from the competitive races will arrive.

A shuttle bus will be available from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. to get to Torrenieri from Montalcino, which will also be available from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.

In Montalcino near the EXPO area, you can enjoy the Athlete’s Lunch which starts at 12 p.m. by purchasing a €20.00 voucher there. Lunch is free for those under 14 years of age.

The wave start times for the Walk & Nordic Walking are set for 9:30/10:00/10:30 a.m. from Torrenieri with 200 participants in each wave.

There will also be a bag check at the start with pick-up at the finish line.

Showers available in the finish area (at the stadium in Montalcino for Male and Sports Hall for Female).

See you there!
